Library Corner: The Weston Library wants to hear all voices
The Weston Public Library is conducting a survey about its services for kids and teens.

One of the aspects I love most about libraries is that libraries provide service, in one form or another, to everyone – and by everyone, I mean patrons of all ages.
When I tell people that I am a librarian they often reply with a story of their favorite library memory. It’s almost always a childhood memory of being tucked away in a cozy library corner enjoying their favorite books or it’s a memory of reading library books to their child or grandchild at bedtime.
Or anytime!
At Weston Public Library, like lots of public libraries, the Youth Services department is the busiest department. If you have littles, you may have noticed that there are a lot of tiny library enthusiasts throughout the day and especially after school and on weekends. Even patrons in infancy can participate – we offer a monthly program that teaches sign language to babies. There are several programs for toddlers. There’s a monthly sing-along program where singing and dancing are enthusiastically encouraged. There is a storytime program and drop in craft program for 2-year-old children and another storytime designed to interest 3, 4, and 5-year-old kids. Older children have even more to choose from such as after school book clubs, art programs, and summer reading activities.
We want to make sure that we hear all voices, so for the next several weeks we are collecting feedback via an online and paper survey about our services for kids and teens. Please take a moment to share your thoughts and the thoughts of your kids and teens. Tell us what is working well and where we can improve. Do you have an idea that we should try?
We’re listening!
Thank you for helping us better meet the needs of your family by sharing your thoughts and suggestions.
