Weekend left lane closure on Route 20 eastbound

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will close the left lane on Route 20 eastbound at the Interstate-95 southbound on-ramp, as it undertakes bridge work.

The left lane of Route 20 20 will be closed on Friday, Oct. 3, from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning, on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. the following morning and Sunday, Oct. 5, from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning,

MassDOT workers will perform painting activities related to containment installation, heating, paint removal and priming of the steel bridge safety railings. The right lane and on-ramp will remain open at all times during construction.

Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area. Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
