Letter: Responding to letter on Weston housing plan

I am responding to Alice Benson’s Letter to the Editor in the Aug. 7 edition of the paper.

Maybe I am missing something here, but, if an adult child of a Weston resident wants to live in this town, but wants to purchase a cheap house with no downpayment, they can always consider applying for a low income apartment in one of the apartment complexes that are now being built in this town.

We have lived in Weston going on 50 years and my two adult children have homes in towns that they are able to afford. But, these towns are close enough and only a small car ride away. The face of this town has always been about the size of one’s house, what kind of car one drives, etc. and it has lost the charm and character that it once had.

We were fortunate enough to find a small house that we could afford in Weston and we are empty nesters and this house is perfect for us now that we are older and don’t have to consider moving at this time into something smaller.
