Weston Public Schools Child Find Ages 3-22
Screening for Preschool and Kindergarten Students
If you suspect that your child between the ages of 3 and 22 who resides in Weston may be disabled and may require special education services, you may request an evaluation at no cost through the Weston Public Schools Student Services Office. Please contact us at the following: Martha Bakken, Student Services Director 89 Wellesley Street, Weston, MA 02493 bakkenm@weston.org (781) 786-5240 The Weston Public Schools is responsible for the evaluation of students to determine if they are eligible for special education or related services under Federal Law, IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and Massachusetts State law, 603 CMR 28 (Massachusetts Special Education Regulations). If students are found eligible for special education, all services are provided without cost. In the Spring before a child enters Kindergarten, the Weston Public Schools also conducts a screening for all potential Kindergarten students in the district. All parents/guardians who have enrolled their child in the Weston Public Schools will be contacted by the school to schedule an appointment. However, if a child is not enrolled in the Weston Public Schools, parents/guardians can contact the Department of Student Services at (781) 786-5240 to be referred to the appropriate school to schedule a screening. The Weston Public Schools is also committed to identifying eligible special education children before their third birthday in order to provide early intervention services for three and four year-olds with disabilities. If you have questions or concerns regarding your child’s development and would like to have him/her screened, please call Emily Tucker, Assistant Director of Student Services, at (781) 786-2540 to set up an appointment.

Rules and Regulations Revision
Advertising Fees and Lighting
The Planning Board will hold Public Hearings remotely via Zoom on the following applications on the dates listed below. Meetings to start at 7:00 p.m. July 1, 2026 – proposed revisions to decrease the advertising fees of the Planning Board Rules and Regulations; Rules and Regulations for Site Plan Approval; Submission Procedures for Site Plan Approval for Scenic Roads and Residential Gross Floor Area; Regulations for Personal Wireless Communications Facilities and to institute design rules for exterior residential lighting The Zoom instructions will be provided on the agenda when they are posted to the town website. If there are any questions or concerns before the Public Hearing you may contact the Town Planner Imaikalani Aiu, aiu.i@westonma.gov or the Assistant Planner Justine Cook cook.j@westonma.gov. Copies of the rules are available for public inspection at Town Hall Monday to Thursday from 8:30 to 4:00 and Friday from 8:20 to 12:30 or online at https://www.westonma.gov/DocumentCenter/Index/5927. Pursuant to Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021, which includes an extension of Governor Baker’s March 12, 2020 Order Suspending Certain provisions of the Open Meeting Law, G.L. c. 30A, §18, this meeting will be held via an online meeting platform. No in-person attendance of members of the public is available but every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time including a dial-in option.
