Candidate Statement: Arthur Gibson

I’m excited to run for the Weston Recreation Commission. Much of my free time is spent on the field coaching my sons’ teams (ages 9 and 11)—sometimes even figuring out how to get water off home plate after a rainy day.

As a software engineer, I spend much of my day in front of screens, so I value the opportunity to be outside and engaged in our community. Since moving to Weston in 2019, I’ve been actively involved in youth sports, with much of our family time spent on the fields and sidelines. I’m also a Weston Little League board member, a basketball coach, and a soccer dad.

If elected, I’m focused on maintaining and improving the fields and recreational spaces we already have. I’m especially interested in supporting a smooth transition through the upcoming building projects at the high school and middle school campuses.

Weston has done a great job preserving open spaces, fields, and recreational opportunities as the community grows and evolves. I look forward to the opportunity.
