Letter: Town should support AIC through budget

As trustees of the Weston-based Margaret Stewart Lindsay Foundation, we have been thrilled to support the Weston AIC as they work tirelessly to create an accessible, affordable, and welcoming home for the arts in Weston. We have seen first-hand the positive impact this resource has on the Weston community and the broader metro-west community as well. As a foundation, we constantly seek opportunities to make strategic investments in non-profits that we know will have an outsized impact compared to the funding we provide—in terms of access, economic development, education, and building community. We have provided multiple grants to the AIC precisely because we have determined them to be a sound investment with an outsized return. We encourage the town of Weston to generously support the AIC through the town budget to cover the manager’s salary. This investment by the town will leverage many times more in funds from donors and foundations such as ours, while providing a vital resource to the town and its residents.
