Letter: Clarifying caucus nomination, and what it says about Weston

A procedural issue at Weston’s recent town caucus briefly called my nomination for Select Board into question. The concern arose from a technicality involving voter registration eligibility, and I appreciate those who helped ensure the rules were properly understood and applied.

More important than the error itself was the response from the community. Many residents—some I had not previously met, despite living in Weston for over 30 years—spoke up in support of a fair and transparent process to sustain my nomination. That moment reflected the civic spirit that makes Weston unique.

Town government works best when residents are engaged, informed, and willing to participate.

The caucus demonstrated that Weston continues to uphold those values.

As I consider serving on the Select Board, I remain committed to preserving the qualities that define our town: thoughtful governance, community involvement, and a shared respect for Process.
