Candidate for Recreation Commission: George Manley

My name is George Manley, and I have lived in Weston for the past two years. Previously, I spent 12 years in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where I served a three-year term on the Parks and Recreation Board. I am a wilderness first responder, an avid outdoor enthusiast, and have served on numerous environmental and community non-profit boards.

I am interested in joining the Weston Recreation Commission to expand program offerings and increase revenue. My goal is to provide families with more options for their children while helping the department become self-sustaining. Additionally, I am interested in the trails rehabilitation strategy and fostering collaboration between the Recreation Commission and the Council on Aging.

Most recently, I served for eight months on the Strategic Planning Committee for the Weston School District. I was deeply impressed by the dedication of our community members and welcome the opportunity to serve Weston again.
