Weston is looking for a new building inspector.

Paul Creedon, who took the role last year, is leaving to become Belmont’s building commissioner. Town Manager Leon Gaumond said Creedon parted ways on good terms and that the town will be sad to see him go. Creedon resigned on Oct. 16, and declined to comment.

“The town enjoyed and appreciated service and we wish him luck with his future endeavors,” Gaumond said.

Gaumond said Weston is still looking to hire a new building inspector. Duties include zoning enforcement, as well as inspecting construction and enforcing local and state building codes.

“For a real-world example, all the apartments at 752 Boston Post Road will have to be inspected to make sure they’re all up to code and meet all the agreed-upon prerequisite requirements,” Gaumond said.
