Guidelines for Letters to the Editor

The Weston Observer welcomes letters of local interest from current Weston residents and business owners. Letters are published at the sole discretion of the editor and there is no guarantee of publication. The editor also reserves the right to edit for content, clarity and style.

To be considered for publication, letters need to meet the following qualifications:

  • Letters should be emailed to letters@WestonObserver.org at least three days prior to expected publication.
  • Letters must include the writer’s full name, address and phone number. The letter will be published with the author’s name and street. The phone number is for verification by the editor. 
  • Letters are limited to 300 words or less. 
  • Residents are limited to one letter per 30 days. 
  • Letters must focus on Weston-related issues. 
  • Letters deemed a personal attack by the editor will not be published. 
  • The Weston Observer will not accept letters filed on behalf of a third party. 
  • There can be no more than two signatures on any one letter.
  • The Weston Observer will not publish form or templated letters. 
  • Letters in support of candidates or on ballot issues will not be published the week prior to an election.
